Code of Conduct

Our mission is to build a library of high-quality questions and biblical answers, and to promote collaboration within a safe and welcoming community rooted in love, kindness, cooperation, and mutual respect.

Whether you’ve come to ask questions or to share your knowledge, join us in building a community where all people feel welcome and can participate, regardless of expertise on subjects or background. Our platform is a non-judgmental community.

We are committed to enforcing and improving the Code of Conduct. It applies to everyone using Bibly Overflow and any other Bibly Platforms sites, including our admins, moderators, and anyone posting content to our platforms.

Expectations for users

Engaging With Users

No matter where you engage on the platform with users, we expect all users to treat one another with kindness and respect. While comments and other actions may not be meant to be harmful, they can still inadvertently end up causing harm. If you encounter something that you believe is harmful, please flag it and an admin or moderator will address the situation.

Answering

Knowledge sharing and biblical sound answers are the platform's foundation. To ensure that all answers meet the platform's standards we have set community standards for answers being provided. Read more on how to write a good answer.

Curating Content

Community users curate content through reviews and edits to keep questions and answers clear, relevant, and accurate.

Asking

Most people visit Bibly Overflow to get answers to their questions. For the Community to be able to properly answer your question, the community standards applies to all new questions. Read more on how to ask a good question.

Commenting

Comments are generally used to request clarification, leave constructive criticism, or add relevant but minor information to a question. Comments also can be used to have a short conversation about the question. Read more on the purpose of comments and their guidelines.

Voting

Votes are how the Community signals great content and rewards its users for their contributions.

Unacceptable Behavior

Abusive Behavior

We do not allow harassment of any kind. Any content that promotes, encourages, glorifies, or threatens acts of violence will be removed. Curation activities such as voting (up-votes, down-votes, etc) are typically not abusive behaviors.

Political Content

We not allow political content on this platform unless it's relative to a question. Bibly Overflow is not a political platform and in most cases political content has no place here.

Use of AI

We do not permit the use of AI on our platform. We want our users to provide answers that are biblical and personal. Human interaction is something that AI can't replace. Any content generated by AI will be removed.

Sensitive Content and Images

Any content that promotes, encourages, provides instruction for, or glorifies suicidal or self-injurious behaviors will be removed. Content that promotes, encourages, provides instruction for, or glorifies harm or cruelty will be removed. If you or someone else is in need of help, please read more on situations where users are in crisis.

Advertising

No user is permitted to post content that is considered to be an ad or to solicit users for services and, or products. Any content that is considered an advertisement will be removed and the user may be banned from Bibly Overflow.

Reporting

Every user contributes to building a safe and respectful community. If you find unacceptable content you can flag the content (Flagging content is a permission based on points. If you can't flag content because you haven't unlocked that permission, you can let us know through the feedback form.) Admins and moderators review flags regularly and any user that doesn't follow the Code of Conduct may face repercussions, including, but not limited to, account suspensions.

If you feel that a user's behavior is harmful in any way, you can report them through the feedback form. Alternatively, you can block a user if you feel their behavior is unacceptable.

All reports are taken seriously and actions will be taken on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the admins and moderators. If you're not satisfied by the decision made by the moderator or admin you may appeal it by contacting us. We review each report individually and will respond to them as soon as possible.
